Baxter Aerospace, Inc. Expands Manufacturing in St. George
Today, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) awarded Baxter Aerospace, Inc. a post-performance tax reduction for its expansion in Washington County. The corporate incentive is part of the state’s Rural Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (REDTIF) program.
Under the agreement, Baxter plans to create 90 new, high-paying jobs and invest $19,550,000 in Utah over the next five years.
“Expanding in southern Utah allows us to increase our manufacturing capacity and support our customers’ growing needs,” said Jeff Baxter, CEO of Baxter Aerospace. “We’re excited to build out our operations in Washington County and help shape the region’s aerospace future.”
The company’s expansion centers around leasing and equipping a manufacturing facility in Washington City.
“When we look at where the global economy is heading, we recognize that advanced manufacturing infrastructure is imperative,” said Jefferson Moss, GOED commissioner. “Baxter Aerospace’s investment signals to the world that Utah’s economic future is fueled by frontier innovation in every corner of the state.”
Designed to transition advanced customer programs from prototype development into full-scale production, the new site will support mission-critical work across aerospace, defense, satellite communications, autonomous aircraft, public safety, space, and fusion energy. Through company-funded investments in high-capacity infrastructure, specialized testing spaces, security systems, and high-paying regional jobs, Baxter will boost domestic manufacturing capacity while strengthening Utah’s aerospace industrial base.
“Baxter Aerospace’s investment is an encouraging step in growing Washington County’s advanced manufacturing sector,” said Washington County Commissioner Adam Snow. “This expansion will strengthen our employment base and connect local talent with opportunities in aerospace and other emerging industries. We’re pleased to see Baxter continue to grow here and contribute to the county’s long-term economic strength.”
“Baxter Aerospace’s planned expansion will help diversify our local economy and create skilled, high-paying jobs in a growing industry,” said Washington City Mayor Kress Staheli. “For our young people, these opportunities mean more options to build a career and a future close to home. We’re pleased to support Baxter’s growth and its investment in our community.”
